It is not hard to recognize that the seventh-day Sabbath is the end of the seven-day weekly cycle, and that the Sabbath is marked by the daily cycle of the sun. Both the Bible and nature testify to this effect. Yet it is not as easy to answer some of the objections to this observation. We are to learn how to handle scripture with fidelity, so I saw this particular challenge as an opportunity to learn more than I had known about what I believe and why. I also see it as an opportunity to share with others an even more solid basis for accepting the seventh-day Sabbath and the weekly seven-day cycle. You can only win by exploring more about the reason you believe in the seventh-day Sabbath and the perpetual weekly cycle.
This e-book is a companion work to Intervals of Honour which gives the history of the week and the Seventh-day Sabbath and Biblical reason why the Sabbath rest remains for the people of God.
Download the e-book God's Eternal Creation Sabbath, a document that addresses points we aren’t likely to know so much about. Topics cover the controverted points on the weekly seven-day perpetual cycle and the seventh-day Sabbath such as:
- Mo’ed (#4150)—Leviticus Chapter 23 lists all of the appointed times or sacred assemblies.
- Bible passages describe the seven-day weekly cycle and the seventh-day Sabbath.
- Luni-solar calendar system.
- Kho-desh (#2320)—During the Mosaic period and the time of the judges, the Bible describes the first day of the month differently than it does during the period of the kings.
- Prior to the period of the kings, the first day of the month (later called the New Moon day) is depicted as a work day.
- During the Mosaic period and the judges, there is no Biblical reference to the people being commanded to worship (prostrate themselves).
- In the New Testament we find the first example of the New Moon day being referred to as a festival.
- In the Hebrew culture, since the days of Moses there were different types of festivals.
- The perpetual seven-day weekly cycle has never been broken.
